Central Florida has a specific rodent profile. The warm climate means there is no winter die-off, the tree canopy gives climbing species a route onto roofs, and the construction styles common here leave predictable openings. These are the problems we are called about most.
Roof rats in the attic
The roof rat is the worst rodent pest in Florida and the most abundant, according to UF/IFAS Extension. It climbs, it nests high, and it is the animal behind the overwhelming majority of attic calls in this metro.
